The Well, in Vale do Lobo, is one of those places that captures the very best of the Algarve in a single space: the closeness to the sea, the laid-back rhythm of long summer days, and a cuisine capable of turning a simple lunch into a true experience. Since its opening in 2021, this restaurant and beach club has become a must-visit hotspot for those seeking elegance, entertainment, and great food — always with the Atlantic as a backdrop.
Upon arrival, the atmosphere immediately transports you to a Bali-inspired haven. With palm trees, Balinese beds, and a pool reflecting the clear blue sky, the setting is both relaxed and sophisticated. It’s an invitation to slow down and fully embrace the moment — and the menu.

At Well, sushi takes center stage, and it’s guaranteed that all lovers of Asian cuisine will leave fully satisfied. The premium selection is meticulously crafted, with each piece arriving at the table like a small work of art. The flamed tuna and salmon nigiris, with a subtle touch of ponzu sauce, win you over with their simplicity and freshness. The white fish sashimi melts in your mouth, reminding us why the Algarve sea is one of the most generous. The gyozas, filled with chicken or vegetables, strike a surprising balance of texture and flavor. Highlights also include the salmon tiradito with passion fruit foam and ponzu sauce, or the Black Tiger Crispy — Black Tiger prawn wrapped in almond flakes, sweet chili, and served with rice paper. A true feast of flavors and textures.

But Well is more than sushi. The menu also features Mediterranean and Portuguese-inspired dishes, perfect for leisurely dining, such as beef tartar, tagliata steak, or octopus à Lagareiro from Santa Luzia, a modern tribute to Algarvean roots.
We paired our lunch with delicious cocktails — the highlight being the Pirate Mule, the perfect match to enhance the freshness of the fish. The drinks menu is a festival of creativity: not only with its wide selection of wines and champagnes but also with its tropical, refreshing signature creations that carry the summer spirit through to the very last sip.
Time runs slowly at Well. Between one dish and the next, there’s always space to contemplate the sweeping views over Vale do Lobo beach, listen to the gentle rhythm of background music, and feel the unique energy of the place. In the afternoons, DJs and live musicians bring the venue to life, but at lunchtime the atmosphere is pure sensory delight: the sound of the sea, the brightness of the Algarve sun, and the unforgettable taste of a menu crafted with mastery. More than just a restaurant, Well is a gastronomic and lifestyle destination, one of those places where every meal turns into a memory. In Vale do Lobo, it’s the perfect setting for those who believe that eating well is also living well.
