Reopened at the beginning of September, Quinta do Paral’s wine shop is now fully operational, continuing the experience offered at the estate and bringing visitors closer to the wines and products that come from its land.
Designed by architecture studio Saraiva & Associados, with interior design by Inês Moura, the project was conceived as a natural extension of Quinta do Paral itself: a space where the vineyards, wine and Alentejo identity come together in an environment designed for discovering, tasting and choosing. “The organic shapes, design elements and rounded finishes were conceived to create continuous, fluid lines, as an architectural interpretation of the very essence of wine. More than a shop, we wanted to create a space where wine could be discovered, tasted and experienced,” says Inês Moura.
Located on the first floor of the winery, above the space where the wine rests in barrels and clay amphorae, and where part of Quinta do Paral’s wines are found, the shop benefits from a privileged location, with open views over the vineyards and The Wine Hotel. Its proximity to the production areas strengthens the connection between the origin of the wines, the work carried out at the winery and the experience of those visiting the estate.
At the centre of the shop is a table specifically designed to host wine tastings and moments of discovery, inviting visitors to explore different wines, discover new flavours and, above all, enjoy the unique rhythm of the Alentejo, where there is time to taste, talk and savour.
The space also includes a private room for customised events and private tastings, allowing for more intimate experiences tailored to different groups and occasions.
More than a point of sale, the new shop establishes itself as a meeting place centred around wine.
Quinta do Paral Wines and the Winery
The shop brings together all the wines produced at Quinta do Paral, from its 53 hectares of vineyards, where exceptional wines are produced that embody the soul and traditions of the Alentejo.
Among its most emblematic wines is Quinta do Paral Vinhas Velhas, the identity that was at the origin of the brand. These wines are produced from vineyards over 60 years old, spanning 18 hectares and including both white and red grape varieties.
At the shop, visitors can taste many of the estate’s wines, including Quinta do Paral Origem, Espumante, Licoroso and Talha.
For those taking their first steps into the world of wine, Quinta do Paral suggests Quinta do Paral Superior, Branco, 100% Arinto, a single-varietal wine whose notes of orange blossom, ripe orange and lemon give way to citrus flavours on the palate, making it a particularly approachable choice for beginning to explore wine tasting and discover the richness of Portuguese wines.
The Quinta do Paral experience goes beyond wine. The shop also presents the olive oils produced at the estate, extracted from olives harvested from centuries-old olive trees, including trees over 800 years old. This product also reflects the estate’s connection to the land and its agricultural heritage.
This September, Quinta do Paral was selected as one of the five nominees for European Winery of the Year at the 2026 Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards. Organised by Wine Enthusiast, an internationally renowned magazine in the wine sector, these awards recognise companies and individuals that stand out for their contribution to the innovation, growth and development of the industry. The nomination further reinforces the international recognition of Quinta do Paral’s work and positions the estate among Europe’s leading wine projects.

A New Way to Discover Quinta do Paral
For Luís Morgado Leão, CEO and winemaker at Quinta do Paral, the refurbishment of the shop represents a new stage in the estate’s relationship with those who visit and appreciate its wines:
“More than just a shop, this space allows us to bring visitors closer to what we do and to the very best that comes from our land. We want those who visit us to get to know our wines better, discover new references and, with more personalised guidance, find the wine that best suits their taste,” he comments.
Through a personalised advisory service, the Quinta do Paral team will be available to guide each visitor in their wine selection, present the portfolio and provide a discovery experience tailored to their preferences and the occasion.
The physical shop thus complements Quinta do Paral’s wine tourism experience and strengthens the direct relationship between the estate and its visitors, allowing them to take home not only a bottle of wine, but also an expression of the land where it was born.
Shop opening hours:
Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Quinta do Paral Online
The shopping experience can also extend beyond the estate through Quinta do Paral’s online shop, where wines and products from Quinta do Paral can be ordered from anywhere in the world.
