As part of the Michelin Guide’s 2026 hotel selection, Palacete Severo has been awarded one Michelin Key for the first time, a distinction reserved for hotels that offer an exceptional stay and have the potential to become a destination in their own right.
Introduced by the Michelin Guide in 2024, Michelin Keys recognise exceptional hotels that offer outstanding stays. Awarded at three levels, these distinctions take into account universal criteria, including architecture and interior design, the quality and consistency of service, the personality and character of the establishment, value for money, and the hotel’s contribution to the local environment and community.
In total, the Michelin Guide awarded Three Keys to two properties in Portugal, Two Keys to 14 properties and One Key to 53 properties.
Located in the heart of Porto, Palacete Severo is a charming boutique hotel housed in the former residence of architect and anthropologist Ricardo Severo. With 20 rooms, the hotel combines historic heritage with contemporary comfort, offering an intimate and sophisticated stay. Highlights include the award-winning Éon Restaurant and Bistrô Severo, the Severo Spa and the Perspective Art Gallery, further establishing the property as a distinctive destination where culture, well-being and culinary excellence are intrinsically interconnected and seamlessly integrated into the very essence of the stay.
Standing proudly in the heart of Porto’s cultural district, Palacete Severo combines history, art and contemporary elegance, creating an extraordinary sense of belonging.

“We are deeply honoured to receive the Michelin Key,” says Joana Almeida, General Manager of Palacete Severo. “We are extremely happy to receive this distinction, which recognises not only the heritage and character of Palacete Severo, but, above all, the dedication, creativity and genuine spirit of our entire team. Our team’s commitment to creating meaningful and memorable stays is reflected in the smallest details and interactions, and it is incredibly rewarding to see this commitment recognised by the Michelin Guide.”
Guests can relax at Severo Spa, a refined urban retreat where a holistic approach to well-being is part of its philosophy, explore the temporary art exhibitions created by Perspective Galerie, or enjoy the hotel’s Mediterranean cuisine at Bistrô Severo, recommended by the Michelin Guide. The property is also home to ÉON, the Michelin-starred restaurant by Chef Tiago Bonito, adding a new dimension to its gastronomic identity.
