Marta is the soul behind Conversas de Alpendre, a project born from the courage to change her life and turn a dream into reality. With a degree and a master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, she practiced the profession and served as Technical Director of Farmácia Avis, on Avenida de Roma, one of Lisbon’s main avenues. When she became pregnant, she felt the desire to closely follow her son’s growth and decided to radically change her life. Together with her husband, Tiago, with whom she shared this project of love and family, she bought Conversas de Alpendre and, with little Francisco just six months old, they set off together for the Algarve.
Today, nine years later, Marta continues to live that dream, watching Francisco grow up in the same space that welcomes guests from all over the world, always with Tiago’s memory present in every detail of the project. By her side, she also counts on her parents, fundamental presences in her daily life, who help preserve the family spirit that has always guided Conversas de Alpendre.
From the very beginning, she sought to complement the experience with various trainings in hospitality and management, believing that continuous learning is essential to hosting with excellence. More than just a hotel, Conversas de Alpendre is a haven of love, authenticity, and detail, where Marta welcomes guests with the same dedication and sincerity she puts into everything she does. Passionate about her work, she believes that every thoughtful gesture matters in transforming a guest’s stay into something truly memorable.
PROFESSIONAL INSPIRATION
From my family, from the nature that surrounds me, and from my passion for hosting. Conversas de Alpendre was born from the desire to bring all of this together: to create a space where authenticity is lived through detail and where every gesture is made with love.
THE THREE PILLARS OF LIFE
My family, which is my safe harbor. Love, which guides all my choices. And authenticity, with which I strive to live each day.

SECOND PROFESSIONAL CHOICE
Pharmacy, the field in which I graduated at university and which has always been a passion of mine. I dedicated much of my youth to it, and it continues to fascinate me for its connection to health and for the direct contact with people. Just like in hospitality, I see in it the same attention to detail and the same genuine care.
THREE PEOPLE WHO MADE MY CAREER
My parents, who passed on to me the values of dedication and care. My son, who gave me the courage to change my life and create this project. And my guests, who inspire me every day to look at details with fresh eyes.
MAIN HOBBY
Traveling with my family. It’s when I disconnect from work, discover new places, and create the most precious memories — moments that inspire me to keep going and to live each day with gratitude.
TODAY I WOULD GO TO
The Maldives. For their natural beauty, their beaches, the endless ocean, and the way simplicity and charm come together in their hotels. It’s a destination that inspires me and makes me dream.
