On the coast of Ceará, where the wind shapes the dunes and the horizon seems endless, the village of Cumbuco has quietly earned its place among Brazil’s most captivating destinations. Just 40 minutes from Fortaleza, this former fishing village has become a refuge for travellers seeking nature, sport, and an unpretentious form of luxury—deeply connected to the landscape and natural surroundings. It is within this setting that Mana Cumbuco Hotel emerges, a property that captures, like few others, the contemporary spirit of Brazil’s Northeast.
Set directly on the sand, Mana Cumbuco appears to rise organically from its surroundings. Brilliantly designed by renowned architect Guilherme Torres, the architecture favours clean lines, natural materials, and expansive openings that invite in the tropical light and the constant Atlantic breeze. The result is a light, sensory environment where minimalist interiors engage in a dialogue with the shifting dunes and the deep blue of the sea.
Across its various indoor spaces, there is a constant sense of immersion in an atmosphere of refined taste, where every sense is awakened. The landscaping, designed by Alex Hanazaki, continually captures attention, reminding guests at every moment that they are in a truly special place—quite possibly the most beautiful hotel in Brazil.

The suites are conceived as private sanctuaries. Many offer direct ocean views and spacious balconies where time seems to slow down. A palette of neutral tones, natural fabrics, and contemporary design creates a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, closer to an elegant beach house than a traditional hotel. Our suite featured a private pool and open views over Cumbuco Beach—perfect for witnessing breathtaking sunrises and embracing the tropical climate that defines Brazil.
The main pool, overlooking the sea, became our gathering point throughout the day, while the restaurant celebrates local ingredients through a contemporary lens. Fresh fish, tropical fruits, and regional flavours are reinterpreted into dishes that balance simplicity and creativity. Mana’s gastronomy is guided by a menu signed by Chef David Mansaud. The French chef brings over 20 years of experience in international fine dining, with a career spanning renowned kitchens in France and the United States, as well as serving as executive chef of the iconic Belmond Copacabana Palace. Today, he lends his refined technique and contemporary vision to projects that highlight local ingredients and authentic experiences.
Breakfast reflects everything one expects from a hotel of this calibre—it is a true barometer of excellence, and at Mana it is simply outstanding. With both buffet and à la carte options of exceptional quality, it offers the perfect start to the day—and what days they are. Family meals, swims in the sea and pool, reading, conversations, and quiet moments in the lounges and relaxation areas—Mana Cumbuco invites guests to slow down, shift their rhythm, appreciate life’s simple pleasures, and dream. Always.

The hotel also offers further opportunities to disconnect. The spa provides a haven of relaxation with therapies and massages, while the fitness centre features a modern structure for those wishing to maintain their training routine. Mana’s Kite Center is led by Elias Seadi, an instructor with over 20 years of experience, known for training both athletes and enthusiasts across Brazil. From beginner to advanced levels, the Kite Center offers personalised training, guided downwinds, maximum safety, and state-of- the-art equipment—ensuring an exceptional experience on the water.
Meanwhile, the Cumbuco region retains its adventurous spirit. Internationally known for its ideal kitesurfing conditions, it attracts travellers from around the world in search of constant winds and dramatic landscapes. We couldn’t miss a buggy ride across the dunes, hidden lagoons, and breathtaking scenery, nor the long walks along the beach—those that naturally become part of the rhythm of days in Ceará. As the sun sets, the sand takes on golden hues and the silence of the coastal desert becomes almost cinematic. In this context, Mana positions itself as more than a hotel—it is a meeting point between contemporary design and raw nature. A place where luxury is measured by simplicity: the sound of wind through the palm trees, the golden light of late afternoon, and the feeling of being in one of the most authentic corners of Brazil’s coastline. Mana Cumbuco impresses in every way, but its true soul lies in its people—the remarkable team who create these unforgettable moments. Thank you all, and see you soon—because those who visit Mana once, immediately begin dreaming of their return.
