Farol Hotel Begins the Countdown to Its New Autumn Menus

With the launch of its new autumn menus scheduled for the end of October, Farol Hotel, located by the sea in Cascais Bay, invites guests to make the most of the final weeks of the current menus at Element6 restaurant and O’Mast Cocktail Bar & Lounge. The offering combines gastronomy with the hotel’s location during one of the quietest times of the year in the town: from breakfast with sea views to dinner over the fire, with a signature cocktail in between, all at the pace of an autumn afternoon.

For many, October is the best month to discover Cascais. Temperatures remain mild, seaside walks and beaches are quieter, and the historic centre returns to its local rhythm. Against this backdrop, Farol Hotel, just steps from the marina and town centre, invites guests to swap the rush of summer for days spent between the table and the window, with the Atlantic always taking centre stage.

The day begins with breakfast, open to the public, served from 7:30am to 10:30am overlooking the sea. Sourdough bread, viennoiserie and mini pastéis de nata, national and international cheeses and cured meats selected by the Chef, smoked salmon and mackerel, and eggs prepared to order — poached, scrambled, as an omelette or à la Berbère — are all part of the offering, alongside made-to-order options such as avocado toast with smoked salmon and a poached egg, pancakes, waffles and crêpes.

For lunch and dinner, Element6 reflects its surroundings. Inspired by carbon, the sixth element, the restaurant is built around three gestures: the raw and fresh produce of the Atlantic, the fire of charcoal and the precision of the knife. On warmer days, oysters, Atlantic sea bass ceviche or prawn tiradito are particularly inviting; as the afternoon cools, it is time for the grill, with octopus, sea bass, whole sole to share between two or grilled lamb chops. To finish, there is the charcoal-caramelised crème brûlée or the O’Mast Cigar, served with raisin and rum ice cream.

Sunset now arrives earlier, providing the perfect excuse to linger at O’Mast. Among the signature cocktails, Garden on Fire, with mezcal, ginger beer and rosemary, and Hazelnight, with Hennessy, Maceira cream and dark chocolate, accompany the changing season, alongside classics such as the Negroni and Old Fashioned. At the bar, Sado oysters, pata negra croquettes or a selection of three cheeses to share keep the conversation going, which can end with an Óbidos ginja or a glass of Port wine.

For the hotel, this is also a way of showcasing Cascais outside the high season: “Autumn is one of the best times to discover Cascais at a slower, more relaxed pace. Before we introduce the new menus, we want our guests to make the most of these days by the sea, at the table at Element6 or in the late afternoon at O’Mast,” says Aurélie Souto, General Manager of Farol Hotel, part of the international Preferred Hotels & Resorts network.

The new autumn menus at Element6 and O’Mast will be unveiled at the end of October. Until then, Element6 is open for lunch from 12:30pm to 3:00pm and dinner from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, with reservations available via +351 21 482 34 91 or at farol.com.pt.
