Right in the heart of vibrant Casablanca, the cosmopolitan Moroccan city, lies a haven of sophistication and charm: Hotel Le Doge Relais & Châteaux. This boutique hotel, located in the city’s Art Deco neighborhood, takes us on a journey to the past, marked by refined architecture and an intimate atmosphere that celebrates elegance with discretion.
Built in the 1930s, the building that now houses Le Doge was originally designed as a private residence. Completely renovated, its structure maintains the authenticity of the Art Deco era, with elegant lines and meticulous details that evoke the glamor of that time. When we arrive, it is tempting to immediately take a look at the hall and the long staircase that follows the floors of the entire building, in an elegant and dizzying spiral.
Sleep
The hotel offers a balance between tradition and modernity. Each of the rooms and suites has been decorated in a unique way, taking care to preserve all its authenticity through elegant vintage furniture, while offering modern comfort, without losing the historical essence that permeates each space.
Our spacious suite, decorated in warm tones of blue and gold, recreates an atmosphere that invites relaxation and a well-deserved rest. The art of the 1930s-style frames and mirrors is defined by each carefully chosen detail. This little cocoon is completed by a little oasis, the private terrace, which is there to add an unexpected touch. This small internal garden is a charming space for a morning coffee or a late afternoon break.
Gastronomy
Le Doge offers two different gastronomic options: the ‘Le Jasmine’ restaurant with traditional Moroccan cuisine and the ‘Rooftop Le Doge Café’ with Mediterranean cuisine.
Le Jasmine is a whole experience, a true gastronomic jewel and a dive into traditional Moroccan culture, which stands out for the most authentic palates and differentiated service, carried out in a cozy and elegantly decorated art deco environment. A hand-painted table service by the best artisans in Fez, antique silver candlesticks discovered in antique shops, carved wooden walls and exceptional stained glass windows – the details are surprising, a classic of refinement in the company of a tasting menu that fills our hearts.
In turn, the atmosphere at ‘Rooftop Le Doge Café’ is relaxed and lively and here we can enjoy panoramic views over Casablanca, with a menu that combines the rich local culinary heritage with touches of international haute cuisine. The use of fresh, local ingredients is a testament to the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and authenticity.
Connection with the City
In addition to the surrounding atmosphere, Hotel Le Doge is a gateway to exploring Casablanca. The privileged location allows easy access to some of the city’s most interesting points, such as the Hassan II Mosque and the central market. For architecture lovers, the Art Deco neighborhood is a visual delight, with elaborate facades that tell the story of a prosperous era.
Le Doge Relais & Châteaux is a dive into a universe of history and culture. Whether for a romantic getaway, a business trip or simply to explore the charms of Casablanca.
