Shangri-La Dubai is a unique hotel in the heart of Dubai. A privileged location, exquisite gastronomic offerings and comfortable accommodation with a stunning view of the city’s Skyline.
The entrance to Shangri-La is imposing, not only due to the 42 floors that make up the building but also due to the spaciousness of the lobby atrium, sovereignly adorned with floral arrangements and majestic chandeliers and a very original check-in counter, which transforms hundreds of books into an intriguing work of art.
When we arrive at our deluxe suite, located on an upper floor of the hotel, the first thing that stands out is the stunning view we are treated to. Elegant accommodations with an iconic panoramic view of the city where the Burj Khalifa stands out for its grandeur. A beauty that becomes even more special at night, with thousands of lights and the vibrancy of the city. But inside, the space is calm, full of soft tones, soft rugs and a marble-lined bathtub, which invites you to relax after a busy day in the city. In the morning, after a good night’s sleep, Dunes Café offers an extremely complete breakfast that meets all your choices, with variety and quality, from fruit, pastries, yogurts, smoothies and an incredible variety of hot and cold dishes.
Shangri-La Dubai has seven restaurants so the gastronomic offer is simply divine. At Hoi An, the Vietnamese jewel, we find a fascinating mix of authentic and complex flavors and a decor that immediately transports us to the land of the blue dragon. We had the pleasure of trying the “Khai Vi Brunch”, with a fascinating menu including Vietnamese Shrimp Rolls or Duck Curry. In turn, at à la carte dinners, the flavors of Vietnam find a French twist, which makes everything even more interesting, with highlight for the Crispy Lobster Ravioli, the different Tempuras or the Vietnamese Sharing Dishes, ideal for discovering a little of this fascinating cuisine that explodes with spicy and sweet flavors in a harmonious way, full of different textures.
The Shang Palace, a reference in the 2023 Michelin Guide, is a hotel ex-libris, elegant and distinct, a dream for lovers of excellent Chinese cuisine. During the à la carte dinner, we embarked on a gastronomic exploration that elevated our senses and where every detail made a difference, from the careful choice of elegant tableware to the meticulous service. Chinese Executive Chef Peter Lau pays homage to centuries of Chinese culinary heritage with a mastery of tradition and innovation. Highlights include the Crab and Shrimp Dumplings Cooked with Salmon Roe; Aromatic Crispy Duck Rolls with Fragrant Spicy Bean Sauce or Crispy Cod with White Onion and Tie Shao Zhi Sauce. But the desserts are also a work of art and a surprise in the way they are presented: Baked Swan Puff Paste with Red Bean Paste or White Bread with Ice Cream and Mixed Fruit. Whatever the choice, no one leaves disappointed.
Late afternoons take place at the ikandy ultralounge, next to the pool, where we relax to the sound of the DJ’s music, cocktails and snacks, the perfect setting with a lively and irresistibly instagrammable vibe, always with the Burj Khalifa in the background.
At Shangri-La Dubai, refinement can be felt in every corner, in the hospitality of the team, in the service, in the careful choice of every detail. A constant search for hospitality that shines in the city center.
