NOBU is chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s restaurant – located in the NOBU Marrakech hotel – an iconic name in Asian cuisine and a classic of elegance that also reflects the culture and gastronomy of the place in which it is located. This is the group’s first restaurant in Africa and we had high expectations for a dinner that is an invitation to travel and taste, where the craftsmanship takes place in an open kitchen that allows the aromas to spread throughout the room, reaching us in a simple dance.
This is the hotel’s signature restaurant and is rooted in creating memories around the pleasure of exceptional food. The menu features all the classics of “Nobu Style” (something intrinsic to Nobu menus around the world) including Black Cod Miso, Rock Shrimp Tempura or Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño – exclusive creations by chef Nobu Matsuhisa that use locally sourced ingredients.
This menu is the result of several years of studying Japanese cuisine in Tokyo and the chef’s extensive travels. We tried the Omakase Tasting Menu, which encompasses some of the chef’s most iconic dishes, where the secret of flavor becomes immersive in an art that is contagious. We finished with a divine Chocolate Fondant, the perfect end.
The space is in itself an extension of the elegance that makes up the entire hotel, elegantly decorated in golden tones, tables richly dressed with fine fabric and shiny cutlery, where every detail integrates the entire experience, in a gastronomic invitation of divine flavors. Smiles and excitement reign with a relaxed service where each dish is a surprise, a story and a whole experience.
