NOBU Marrakech – Cosmopolitan Universe

NOBU Marrakech is the group’s first hotel on African soil and the location couldn’t be better – in the famous Hivernage neighborhood – just a few minutes from the medina, in the heart of the city. Spacious suites, an elegant spa and the famous restaurant that harmonizes Japanese and Moroccan culture and cuisine in a sublime way. A hotel whose architecture and service define the city’s charisma.

Marrakech is one of my favorite cities and every time I return, I feel a sense of comfort and hospitality that is very familiar to me. That same genuine hospitality is evident throughout the team and impeccable service at NOBU Marrakech, which begins with the transfer from the airport. The first impact is fascinating, when our view reaches the lobby, imposingly decorated with a giant bonsai in the center of the hall. Its circular architecture allows us to have an expanded view of its interior, where the works of art and elegant decoration stand out. During check-in, we are welcomed with a traditional Moroccan mint tea, an excellent starting point and contact with local culture.

Our spacious suite, in velvety silence, is an intimate corner of luxury and tranquility where the notion of time is challenged. We let ourselves be enveloped by the silky sheets, the soft towels and bathrobes or the wooden furniture that reflects Moroccan culture. The curtains dance to the undulating rhythm of the breeze and illuminate the landscape that the windows announce.

After a short walk to the city center, where we find the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, ideal for immersing ourselves in the local culture, we climb to the top of the hotel, where we find the Rooftop Garden. This is a meeting point with a very international and relaxed vibe, with a circular pool, lively music and top cuisine, with a varied and very tempting menu, where we can also find some Moroccan specialties. At the end of the afternoon, the sunset calls for cocktails and it is very easy to lose track of time while enjoying a privileged view of the Atlas Mountains and the Koutoubia Mosque. As night falls, NOBU Restaurant is an ex-libris of world gastronomy whose experience we share in this edition.

The experience at The Pearl Spa is truly incredible and it is worth visiting this expansive temple of serenity during our stay. For a few moments, our body and soul separate from the outside world and we embark on a journey towards deep relaxation and re-balance. We had the pleasure of taking a Hammam Royal, a journey to the heart of traditions, inspired by ancestral Moroccan treatments, which consists of a salt exfoliation, wrapping in seaweed and a vigorous bath from which we emerge completely rejuvenated and with very soft and shiny skin. We proceed for a Relaxing Massage and immersion in the sumptuous 25 meter long indoor pool, decorated with exquisite mosaics and hypnotic light projections.

NOBU Marrakesh is a testimony to the art of hospitality, a whispered luxury where the soul travels in dreams, without destination or measure. If the outside world lives at a fast pace, here we find the stillness for a sweet haven where we are silent witnesses of stories to be told and secrets that time will take away.
