The Portuguese edition of the World Corporate Golf Challenge begins the circuit on the 15th, 16th and 17th of March, in Sesimbra. The starting point of the World Golf Championship for companies in 2024 will take place on the Quinta de Perú golf course. This space has already hosted the PGA of Portugal National Championship in 2021 and some Challenge Tour tournaments. This year, it will host three stages of the largest corporate tournament in the world, once again, with the support and trust of the Sesimbra City Council. In April, the destination of the stages will be the Santo da Serra Golf Club, the stunning stage of the European Tour’s Madeira Islands Open, between 1993 and 2015. In June, we head to the north of the country, Ponte de Lima, to find out the last finalists who will compete in the national final, in Óbidos, with the support of the Municipality of Óbidos. The Praia D’El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort hotel and golf course will be the hosts of this national final and players will be challenged by the course, designed by architect Cabell B.Robinson, which is usually the stage for national and international competitions and has already it hosted events on the Ladies European Tour and European Seniors Tour. The sporting competition will be a constant challenge and the winning company will live a unique experience at the World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final.
The big news of the 31st edition of the World Corporate Golf Challenge is the staging of the world final which will be in Haikou, China, from 28 October to 1 November 2024. The choice of Haikou as the host city of the World Final reflects the ongoing commitment to excellence and the global expansion of this prestigious event. The World Corporate Golf Challenge was born in 1993 and its growth has been exponential.
On the way to another successful edition, the WCGC has already reached more than 30 countries and more than one and a half million golfers (businessmen) participated in the event. It should be noted that the competition is present on more than 60 TV channels, 46 newspapers and 44 magazines.
The organization of this circuit, in charge of Golf Concept, renews its commitment to providing premium experiences in each tournament and, Estela Sargento Founder of Golf Concept, enthusiastically reveals that “being a licensee of this circuit is a source of pride and constant challenge. Because, on the one hand, representing a brand as solid as WCGC makes us great, it also makes us responsible for its credible and innovative development in our country”. In the Portuguese format, in addition to the selection of finalists in the stages, the WCGC Ranking remains and will qualify four companies for the National Final. The motto of this circuit is “Bringing the world of business together” and Ana Massapina, a graduate from WCGC Portugal, reinforces the desire to participate in this competition: “developing actions that enhance networking between all participants is the main objective of this circuit.
