The 2nd Edition of the Golf Concept trophy took place this weekend

Last weekend, on the 10th and 11th of February, it took place at Praia D’El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort, the second edition of the Golf Concept Trophy under the auspices of Golf Concept. A competition with the participation of 84 golfers from five different nationalities, in a total of 120 participants, including players, partners and guests. EvoqueMag was, once again, one of the official media partners of this amazing event.

In the second edition, the amateur golfer who placed first, thus winning the
competition, would have the possibility of enjoying a premium, unforgettable difference: being present at The Open, the oldest Major, which will take place at Royal Troon, in Scotland between the 18th and 22nd of July this year. It will be a 100% Scottish experience staying at the Glenapp Castle, an award-winning hotel, and will play golf on two courses that already hosted The Open, The Ailsa at Trump Turnberry and Prestwick Golf Club, the first stage of the Major in 1860.

The elegant official competition uniform was designed by Decenio. It wasn’t just about golf this edition, in the two days of competition, there were several social moments of the event that allowed participants to interact. At the cocktail party that preceded lunch and the delivery of awards, it was possible to taste Distintus olive oil and the conversation was accompanied by the fantastic gins from Gin Lovers and the fabulous Poças wines. Leisure moments also guided the competition and proof of this was the strong participation of the luxury car test drives, kindly proposed by Rui Henriques, Sales & Brand Manager at Bentley Lisbon.

The Municipality of Óbidos was represented by the Mayor, Filipe Daniel, who
reinforced the importance of the partnership with the Golf Concept Trophy. “It is very important for us to reinforce and show the best we have in terms of gastronomy, culture, and what characterizes us as a territory and brand of Óbidos.” The Mayor of the Municipality highlights that the region has four golf courses and considers that it has favorable climatic conditions to practice the modality. “This is a brand activation that takes us in various ways to completely different audiences, cementing our strategy of activation of the Óbidos brand, which has been reinforced, and we have therefore seen growth and a great demonstration of confidence in what is a territory with its own dynamics.”

Despite the adverse weather conditions that were felt on the two days that the Golf Concept Trophy took place, the enthusiasm of the golfers was not affected and everyone completed the competition successfully. The winner’s trophy was developed by Vista Alegre, which this year celebrates two centuries of existence. The winner of the second edition of the Golf Concept Trophy was Jorge Torres Moreira, who on competition days totaled 73 points. On the podium, second place belongs to the player Miguel Heliodoro with 69 points, followed by José Nuno Braga with 68 points.
