ITALY
Known for history, art, gastronomy and stunning landscapes that can be very diverse. We begin the journey in the Historic cities – Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan and Naples – each offers a wealth of monuments, squares and architecture dating back centuries of history such as the Colosseum in Rome, the Duomo in Florence, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Vatican or St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice, the city where Michelangelo’s famous “David” sculpture is on display. We continue our journey through the wine regions of Tuscany, Piedmont or Veneto with Italian wine tastings or towards the Amalfi Coast and Islands with their colorful seaside villages and picturesque islands such as Capri, Sicily and Sardinia. Italy’s natural beauty offers outdoor activities such as hiking in the Dolomites, cycling through the Tuscan countryside or relaxing by Lake Como. The cuisine is world-famous and authentic, so we can’t help but try the fresh pasta, pizza, local cheeses, olive oils, wines and, of course, the gelato. The Italian people are hospitable and passionate and we easily surrender to Italy’s many charms.
BHUTAN
Bhutan is a unique country where travelers can explore stunning landscapes, immerse themselves in rich Buddhist culture and experience the authenticity of this Himalayan kingdom. Known for its pristine natural beauty with towering peaks, lush green valleys, serene lakes and vast forests, Jigme Dorji National Park and Phobjikha Valley are just a few stunning places to explore. The local cuisine is different and includes dishes such as ema datshi (peppers with cheese), phaksha paa (pork cooked with peppers) and momo (stuffed dumplings). Bhutan strongly preserves its culture and traditions such as dzongs (monastic fortresses), monasteries and temples that bear witness to Buddhist heritage. Taking part in a religious ceremony and observing the monks in their daily practices is an experience that makes us question the stress with which we live our lives. I believe this is the only country in the world to measure its country’s success based on Gross National Happiness, rather than Gross Domestic Product, reflecting the importance given to quality of life, the spiritual connection between the Bhutanese people and the land and cultural and environmental preservation (being a carbon neutral country). This is why Bhutan maintains strict control over tourism to preserve its culture and environment, an example to the world and a unique approach to sustainable tourism and the preservation of its cultural identity, which makes the visit even more special.
MALDIVES
The Maldives is a must-do travel experience. One of my favorite destinations and where I feel like I can deeply relax to the sound of the sea or in one of its luxurious hotels and spas. A stunning natural beauty with coral gardens and a variety of water activities, making it a paradise for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. But also ecosystems full of marine life, including colorful fish, turtles and even sharks. The unique gastronomy is one of the strong points. Many resorts have overwater restaurants where we can enjoy exquisite meals surrounded by stunning views of the ocean or even underwater restaurants that are an incredible experience where fish and seafood dishes are usually served, with international cuisine and a romantic atmosphere. We explore the different islands, delight in the sunsets in a memorable and intimate experience, immerse ourselves in the local culture (where we realize that coconut is a rich and versatile element) and if applicable, it is a destination ideal for celebrating special occasions such as honeymoons, birthdays and personal celebrations. Whatever the idea, your stay in the Maldives will always be memorable, a perfect combination in a true tropical paradise surrounded by the beauty of the Indian Ocean.
PORTUGAL
Portugal would have to be on our list. Despite being a relatively small country, the travel experience can be an enchanting journey, rich in centuries of history, culture, stunning landscapes and delicious cuisine. For those who don’t know the country yet, we recommend starting with the two large cities, Lisbon and Porto. In Lisbon, get lost in the narrow streets of Alfama with its fado houses, visit the Torre de Belém (stopping at the famous pastries) and enjoy the views of São Jorge Castle. In Porto, discover the enchanting architecture of the historic center and take a tour of the famous Port wine cellars and the Douro. But Portugal is full of other charming cities like Sintra, Évora, Braga or Guimarães. Also take the opportunity to visit the mountains of Trás-Os-Montes or walk through the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Being a coastal country, golden sand beaches are a constant, from the Costa Vicentina to the Algarve, where we find dramatic cliffs and hidden caves, not forgetting our islands – Azores and Madeira – authentic paradises in the middle of the Atlantic. Portuguese hospitality is unique and welcomes you with art and genuine friendliness. In Portugal there is always a place at the table to delight in the cuisine of the different regions and enjoy the healthy mix of enthusiasm and nostalgia that infects those who visit us, living side by side between tradition and modernity.
UNITED STATES
The United States is a country where I feel at home very easily. I especially like the people, the American lifestyle, which is often relaxed and welcoming. Obviously, being a country with a vast geographic extension, our travel experience will vary significantly depending on the region visited and the activities chosen. We can opt for big cities – like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami or San Francisco, where each one has its own personality, distinct attractions and a vibrant cultural scene – or escape the big crowds and go to National Parks like Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park or the Everglades in Florida. Each park offers stunning scenery and unique opportunities for outdoor activities. We can enjoy hiking in the Rocky Mountains, skiing in the Appalachian Mountains, exploring the beaches of California or taking a road trip along the legendary Route 66. If we are traveling with the family, we recommend a visit to Disney World in Florida, Disneyland in California or Universal Studios in Orlando. Experience the diversity of American cuisine and some of its specialties, from pizza in New York to barbecue in the southern United States and seafood on the West Coast. We can visit this country over and over again and know that the travel experience will always be different, offering something for all types of travelers.
