Samsonite Essens #Sustainability

Sustainability is increasingly on the agenda in the world’s leading companies. Samsonite, the world’s leading brand in travel bags, presents its latest collection towards the goal of further reducing its ecological footprint: Essens. This new collection is the brand’s most sustainable launch to date. The tops are made from at least 70% recycled polypropylene from post-consumer waste and the inner lining and zip tape are made from 97% and 100% rPET respectively, both part of the Recyclex™ Material initiative Technology from Samsonite.

But what makes the Essens collection so unique? In addition to incorporating a more sustainable approach from start to finish, this collection was specially designed to last. The innovative and unique recycled polypropylene is made in close partnership with Quality Circular Polymers (QCP), a high-end plastics recycling consortium of Veolia and LyondellBasell.

Furthermore, green electricity is an integral part of the manufacturing process of suitcase lids, as well as the entire assembly process of the final product. Another feature that really sets this suitcase apart is how easy it is to repair. In the unlikely event that your bag needs to be repaired, the Essens collection features a self-repairing design for most of its pieces. The wheels, for example, can be easily dismantled and replaced with just one click and without the need for specific tools. This significantly extends the useful life of the Essens travel bag.

The new Essens collection also stands out for being the brand’s lightest suitcase in its category – polypropylene with a 3-point closure system. Even though it is light, the bag does not compromise Samsonite’s promise of quality and durability, thanks to the self-reinforced design that maximizes its resistance. The collection passes all the rigorous quality tests for which Samsonite is known and recognized. Additionally, Essens travel bags have wheels that absorb shocks, ensuring smooth travel and greater stability on different surfaces. The Essens collection is available in six colors and three different sizes, giving consumers the flexibility to choose the perfect model to meet their personal style and travel needs. Bags can also be personalized with a set of stickers, as well as laser engraving of names or identifying phrases (limited to 25 characters).
