Returning to the places where we were happy is like returning to a world of comfort, where we know what awaits us with the guarantee of an unforgettable experience. That’s how I feel at the Wyndham Grand Algarve, the landmark hotel in Quinta do Lago. Imagine a scenario of excellence where nature is the key element, with beautiful beaches to enjoy sunsets by the sea, ecological tours through the Ria Formosa and cuisine that satisfies the most demanding palates.
When we enter the Wyndham Grand Algarve we feel this legacy of nature and well-being, embedded in the scenery that surrounds it. Two huge paintings at the entrance, in shades of blue, bring the sea close to us, and in an “undulating movement” we are led to the elegant lobby, where tones of gold predominate, evoking the sand of the beaches that surround us.
The Wyndham suites are truly grand and an optimized refuge with two large bedrooms with comfortable beds, three bathrooms, a kitchenette, a luxurious living room and a balcony overlooking the pool and the lush green gardens. Waking up in the morning to this view puts a smile on our face and revitalizes our spirit. The resort has 130 suites, the largest in Quinta do Lago, where we can choose one, two or three bedrooms.
Breakfast takes place at the Caravela Restaurant, with an extensive buffet offerings and some special à la carte orders. Fresh fruit, natural juices, yogurts, bread, pancakes, various cakes, jams, omelettes, cheeses and hot dishes, a wide range for all tastes. In turn, sunny days invite light lunches with suggestions from the Oásis Poolside Café, the poolside space for tasting a fresh, vibrant and delicious menu focused on healthy dishes, salads, pizzas and burgers.
Recently opened, Wyndham’s gastronomy gained an extra point with the opening of the XXL Restaurant, which focuses on a chic bistro concept designed by chef Olivier da Costa. Elegant and relaxed atmosphere, with a romantic terrace and attentive service that accompanies us throughout the experience. Highlights include the Goat Cheese Puff Pastry and XXL Carpaccio, Monkfish Picanha, Entrecôte Café Paris and the delicious desserts, absolutely unmissable such as the Dulce de Leche Soufflé or the Golden Slice. The little ones also have their own menu with very tempting options.
After feeding the body, it’s time to feed the soul with moments of deep relaxation. The Grand Spa has a new menu of treatments and is a center of regeneration enhanced by the power of minerals and active natural aromas. We went to discover the “My first spa” Program – a full body massage with aromatic coconut and citrus oils. This is an exclusive program designed for children aged 9 to 14, offering them their first spa experience. The little ones love it and it’s a great experience to do with our children. But there are also “Rituals for Two” or simply take time to myself, to make the most of it. At the end, we can complement it with a dip in the heated pool, sauna or jacuzzi.
It’s a great feeling to be able to enjoy small family moments. And now that summer is ending and those, like me, are already planning a Halloween getaway, the Wyndham Grand Algarve always prepares a party that entertains parents and children and is truly lively. Much more than an elegant space with exemplary service, the Wyndham Grand Algarve is “our home” in Quinta do Lago, a hotel that rises through the people who make it up, a professional and attentive team, always willing to do better and makes us feel at home. Small details that don’t go unnoticed. Everything we need is here and we leave with a full heart.
